This document describes the files that are on the CPMS FTP server in the wagedata folder under WAGE. The files are datafiles that contain the rates for the schedules that Wage and Salary Division (WSD) has issued under the Federal Wage System. The files are in ASCII delimited format so that they can be used to load to a database table or imported to a spreadsheet without much effort. Each file contains all the rates for all wage areas that were issued that day. The schedules for appropriated funds (AF) areas are in a separate file from those that are for non-appropriated funds (NAF). The file name reflects if it contains AF or NAF rates. The name also identifies the date that the schedules were actually generated by WSD. The format of the file name is: yyyymmmdd(wfa/naf).dat For example, a file with rates for AF wage areas generated on August 13, 2000 would have the name 2000Aug13wfa.dat whereas a file generated on October 11, 2001 for NAF wage areas would be named 2001Oct11naf.dat. A file has a record for each pay grade. Each record has 17 fields which identify the specific rates.
